ASTM A335 Grade P22 Pipe is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe designed for high-temperature service in critical pressure applications. Made from a 2.25% Chromium and 1% Molybdenum alloy composition, P22 pipes offer excellent strength, oxidation resistance, and thermal stability—making them ideal for power generation, petrochemical plants, refineries, and oil & gas industries.
The chromium content enhances corrosion and oxidation resistance, while molybdenum improves tensile strength, creep resistance, and hardenability. This combination allows P22 pipes to operate reliably in environments with fluctuating pressures, high temperatures (up to 600°C), and corrosive atmospheres such as steam, hydrogen, and sulfur-rich media.
P22 pipes are widely used in boilers, heat exchangers, superheaters, and reheater systems, and are a preferred material for piping in thermal power plants and process refineries.
