SS 316 / 316L Pipes

SS 316 Pipes, also known as Stainless Steel 316 Pipes, are austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel pipes offering superior corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides, acids, and saline media. The addition of 2–3% molybdenum improves resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack, making SS 316 pipes the ideal choice for marine environments, chemical processing, and high-purity systems.

Manufactured in both seamless and welded forms, SS 316 pipes perform reliably in high-temperature and moderate-pressure applications. They are widely used in offshore platforms, oil & gas, petrochemical plants, food processing units, pharmaceutical industries, and desalination plants due to their cleanability, weldability, and long service life.

The variant 316L (low carbon) is often used when superior weldability is needed without post-weld heat treatment. Both grades are non-magnetic and maintain mechanical strength at elevated temperatures.
