FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy) coated line pipes are high-performance steel pipes designed with a durable epoxy layer applied through electrostatic spraying. This fusion-bonded coating forms a tough, corrosion-resistant barrier, protecting the steel pipe from moisture, chemicals, and soil contaminants. FBE coated pipes are extensively used in oil & gas transmission, water distribution systems, offshore pipelines, and infrastructure projects where long-term protection and operational reliability are critical.
The FBE coating process involves applying a specially formulated epoxy powder to pre-heated pipes, creating a uniform and seamless protective layer that bonds directly to the steel substrate. This coating offers excellent adhesion, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and cathodic disbondment resistance, making FBE coated pipes highly suitable for both buried and above-ground installations. FBE coatings also provide strong resistance against corrosion under high temperatures, typically up to 85°C to 110°C operating range.
At Middle East Piping, we supply a complete range of FBE coated line steel pipes, manufactured according to API 5L, ISO 21809, and AWWA C213 standards. Available in diameters from 2” to 48”, our FBE pipes are offered in various grades such as API 5L Gr B, X42, X52, X60, and X70, supporting PSL1 and PSL2 requirements. We provide both single-layer and dual-layer FBE coating options, tailored to meet specific project conditions. Full EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 certification, as well as coating inspection reports, are available on request to guarantee quality assurance. click here for fittings
