SMO 254 Pipes (UNS S31254) are high-alloy austenitic stainless steel pipes specifically engineered for extreme corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-rich and seawater environments. With high levels of molybdenum (6%), chromium (20%), and nitrogen, SMO 254 offers outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, making it superior to conventional stainless steels like SS316L or even Duplex 2205 in aggressive environments.
These pipes are ideal for use in desalination plants, offshore oil & gas platforms, heat exchangers, chemical processing systems, and pulp & paper mills, where exposure to chlorides and harsh media is unavoidable. SMO 254 also provides excellent mechanical strength and can operate in elevated temperatures with stable performance.
We offer seamless and welded SMO 254 pipes in accordance with ASTM A312, ASTM A213, and ASME B36.19 standards, with various thicknesses and diameters to suit industrial project needs. Pipes are supplied with end connections such as Plain End (PE), Beveled End (BE), or Threaded End (TE) and can be delivered in mill finish or pickled & passivated condition. click here
At Middle East Piping, we source SMO 254 materials from globally approved mills like Sandvik, Outokumpu, and Aperam, ensuring full material traceability and certification. We regularly supply these pipes across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, supporting EPC contractors, marine clients, and industrial end users. click here
